Second Annual
Tri-Discipline Shoot
2012 January and
February Shoots
It’s always fun to shoot
some different guns now and then even if you do love
cowboy shooting. So dust off a few of those guns you
haven’t shot for a while and choose one of the two
additional disciplines or stick with the good old
cowboy, but do come and enjoy a day of fun shooting
with us.
The Three Shooting
Disciplines:
- Cowboy or Cowboy22 Action
- Wild Bunch or Wild Bunch22
- Roaring Twenties
Shooters will shoot the
same targets on each stage regardless of the
discipline he/she is shooting. Each stage will have
a given scenario for each discipline to follow.
Cowboy Action Discipline:
- This will be as it always has been.
Automatic 10
second bonus will be awarded to any shooter
showing up in his/her appropriate cowboy
dress excluding shoes and coat. Bonus may be
used on any stage of shooter’s choice.
Wild Bunch or Wild Bunch
22 Discipline:
Primary weapons –
pistol, 1911 45 auto w/full length slide and
four 7 round magazines, or any 22LR auto with at least two
magazines capable of holding 10 rounds each,
three would be better and an appropriate
belt and holster. A 44 or 45 cal. rifle
(lead bullets only) or a 22LR lever or pump
action rifle, and a 97 shotgun.
Dress – Some
semblance of pre-WWI military clothing for
men, eg a campaign hat or a military holster
with military type belt (get the idea) or
similar clothing worn by Pike in "Wild
Bunch" movie, and any 1900 - 1930 clothes
for the ladies.
Automatic 10
second bonus will be given to any shooters
who come to the shoot in appropriate dress
excluding shoes and coat. The bonus may be
applied to any stage of shooter’s choice.
Roaring Twenties
Discipline:
Primary weapons –
pistols; any pre 1939 or replica auto of .32
or larger caliber, single action with single
stack magazines, 7 round magazines, 8 round
magazines are ok and two will be required
for each stage. Rifles; any pre 1939 or
replica rifle of .32 caliber or larger
(pistol calibers only), all Thompson 1927A1
semi-autos with drum or stick magazines of
any capacity of 20 rounds or more. No race
guns with compensators and/or altered grips.
All pistol and rifle ammo must be lead
bullets. Any pre 1939 shotgun of 20 -
12 gage.
Pistol holsters –
autos may be carried in vertical (only)
shoulder or belt style leather holsters, no
plastic or fabric holsters allowed.
Special Note
about the use of rifles for shooting this
discipline – Most stages will require more
than 10 rounds of rifle, usually 14 to even
20 in some cases. Now most shooters more
than likely do not own a Thompson 1927A1
semi auto with high capacity magazines,
therefore shooters can use a pre 1939 rifle
or replica of approved pistol caliber, in
which case they will need to two rifles with
each preloaded with the correct amount of
rounds as called for by the scenario.
Dress – any 1920 -
1939 dress attire that represents the type
of persona that you are trying to portray,
bad guy or good guy, from casual dress of
that time to formal Zoot Suit dress. Just as
in cowboy dress, your dress portrays your
character.
Automatic 10
second bonus will be awarded to any shooter
showing up to shoot this discipline in
appropriate dress excluding shoes and coat.
The bonus may be used on any stage of
shooter’s choice.
